"I think we can build a house"Â

In September of 2020 we were hanging out on the rooftop of Ouray Brewing. The views were unreal and just for fun we started checking out the local real estate. We looked at a couple of the available lots including this overgrown nugget on the North side of town. Dustin decided to go for it. By Mid-November he owned a small piece of Ouray.Â
We spent a next couple of years letting the post-pandemic lumber market settle and playing around with designs. We considered something more modern and rectangular, but both of us have always loved A-frames and Dustin wanted to build a bridge in something. He worked his way through the plans and finally said he was pretty confident that we could build it ourselves.

We started our build in May of 2023. It took almost all of our weekends and the majority of our headspace, but here we are. We fell in love with the city and its people and we are grateful to share as much of it as we can with the friends that followed along with our adventure.Â

Important Info
Elevation: The house sits at 7750' Above Sea Level - Drink lots of water and allow for acclimation if you are coming from lower ground.
Weather: It might be a blizzard, it might be 70 degrees and the temps drop as fast as the Sun...Dress in Layers and hope for the best. We will move seating under the carport if needed.Â
Food Facts:Â
- We're providing pizza at Cahoots on Friday night and we'll have a food truck (Tacos) on site for the Open House from 2 PM - 8 PM
- Ouray Grocery is open everyday from 7AM-8PM
- Ouray Liquors is open everyday from 10AM-10PM
- There are great restaurants throughout town. We're happy to offer a recommendation. Be aware that most places close by 9PM.Â
Temporary Tattoos = Local Discount:Â We will be providing temporary tattoos that will get you a discount at our local vendors. Check out the the "Shop Local" tab to see the list of the participating businesses. Thank you for shopping local and exploring the town!
Parking: There will be no parking at the house the day of the event. Please park on Main St and walk up.Â
After Party: The Silver Eagle is the local spot to keep the party going. Â
